User Roles & Permissions

    Understanding the three workspace roles in OneWorkspaceX

    Every member of a workspace holds one of three roles. The role applies across the whole workspace, including Planner. Project roles can be set separately, but they can only narrow what the workspace role allows — a Viewer can never become a project admin.

    ADMIN

    Full control of the workspace. Planner admin.

    Permissions:

    • ✓ Invite members, change roles and remove members
    • ✓ Manage billing, subscription and seats
    • ✓ Create projects and manage workspace settings
    • ✓ Set up Automation, chat integrations and imports
    • ✓ Rename, delete or reactivate the workspace

    MANAGER

    A contributor. Member in Planner.

    Permissions:

    • ✓ Create projects
    • ✓ Create, edit and comment on issues in their projects
    • ✓ See every project shared with the whole workspace
    • ✓ Work with cycles, modules, pages and time tracking
    • ✓ Connect AI coding tools in Studio (on plans that include it)
    • ✗ Cannot invite members or manage billing

    VIEWER

    Read-only. Guest in Planner.

    Permissions:

    • ✓ View projects they have been explicitly added to
    • ✓ Read issues, pages and progress in those projects
    • ✗ Cannot create, edit or comment
    • ✗ Cannot see workspace-wide projects unless added to them
    • ✗ Cannot access admin settings
